You will need:
Stewing steak or minced ground beef
2 large onions
1 Red, orange or yellow bell pepper
4 pieces of garlic, chopped
Chilli peppers - adjust to taste. I begin with 2 and taste as I go.
1 can diced tomatoes
1 jar of spaghetti sauce
2 cans of beans, your choice. I use the mixed Mexican beans
1 can of baked beans
2 tablespoons of chilli powder, mild
1 tablespoon cumin
Beef broth if needed to thin
Salt and pepper
Brown the meat, onions, garlic and peppers. Add remaining ingredients and simmer, covered for 20 minutes. Turn off gas and leave on stovetop for at least an hour and it will thicken more.
We eat it with tortillas warmed or tortilla chips. Top with cheese and green onion too if you like! Enjoy!!!!!!
